Maples are known for their amazing autumn displays of red, purple, orange and yellow foliage.

Acer buergerianum (Trident Maple)

Attractive small tree, well shaped and will tolerate poorer soils. Most maples are planted for their brilliant autumn colours and the Trident Maple is no exception. Grows 6-8mtrs tall and 6-7mtrs wide.

Acer freemanii ‘Jeffersred’ (Autumn Blaze Maple)

A hybrid between the Red Maple and the Silver Maple, this cultivar is aptly named, displaying a blaze of colourful autumn foliage. It has a moderate growth rate and will grow to 13mtrs tall by 10mtrs wide.


 Acer negundo ‘Sensation’ (Box Elder Maple)

This cultivar, Acer negundo ‘Sensation’, will provide brilliant early autumn colour and tolerate poorer soil conditions. Prefers sheltered positions which escape high winds. With a moderate growth rate, it should reach 9mtrs tall by 6mtrs wide.

Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum (Japanese Maple)

There are many forms of the Japanese Maple, and generally this small to medium tree will grow 3-6mtrs tall with a spread of 2-4mtrs. Autumn displays lovely golden orange and red foliage.

Acer rubrum ‘Autumn Red’ (Autumn Red Maple)

One of the most striking Maples with autumn displays of brilliant red foliage. With a moderate growth rate, the Autumn Glory Maple will mature to around 12mtrs.
