Late spring will see a lovely pale pink flowering. This is the Standard form is grafted at approximately 1.6mtrs. The Standard Bechtel Crab Apple is an under-used small tree, ideally suited to avenue plantings.

Malus ioensis ‘Plena’ Tree form (Bechtel Crab Apple)

This would possibly be the most popular cultivar of the Crab Apples. It produces masses of double flowers, with an autumn display of yellows, reds and deep orange. Grows to about 6mtrs.
